Tomb Raider is one of the most iconic video game franchises in all of history and it looks like Amazon wants to be its new home. We say this since the e-commerce and entertainment giant is preparing a new Tomb Raider series for Prime Video.
According to information from The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon is preparing a new television series based on Tomb Raider. This project is in an early stage of development and will be the responsibility of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, a British writer and actress best known for writing and starring in Fleabag and Crashing.

The source indicates that Waller-Bridge will be in charge of writing the scripts for this new Tomb Raider series, in addition to serving as executive producer alongside Ryan Andolina, former head of comedy and d branch at Amazon and Amanda Greenblatt, former deal manager at Prime. Video. It is currently unknown if Waller-Bridge will also star or have a role in Tomb Raider.
This will not be the first time that Tomb Raider has been adapted to film or television. The first movie in the franchise came in 2001 and starred Angelina Jolie; years later, in 2018, there was a film reboot with Alicia Vikander. Tomb Raider will also have an animated Netflix series in which Hayley Atwell will play Lara Croft.
