Being one of the last films in this current evolution of the DCU, Miller’s Scarlet Speedster will say goodbye with a bang, adapting the heralded story of the Flashpoint comic, alongside characters like the Batman from 1989 by Michael Keaton and Supergirl by Sasha Calle.
Blue Beetle (August 18) in DC Comics
Blue Beetle (aka Jaime Reyes) makes his big screen debut as part of DC Comics’ 2023 series. The teen hero, played by Xolo Maridueña, acquires superpowers after “encountering an alien beetle” that “attaches to his spine to provide him with a suit of alien armor.”
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (December 25)
And to close the DC Comics release calendar in 2023 and, in turn, this current era of the DCU… We have Aquaman and the Lost KingdomDirected by James Wan. The aquatic sequel welcomes Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry for another big screen adventure, in which he will have to forge an unlikely alliance to take down Black Manta once again.
