The German football club 1. FC Union Berlin has strengthened the selection with right back Josip Juranovic. The 27-year-old Croatian international comes over from Celtic.
Union Berlin, Ajax’s upcoming opponent in the Europa League, will pay 8 million euros for Juranovic, according to German media. That amount can increase to a maximum of 11 million through bonuses.
Juranovic replaces Julian Ryerson at Union, who recently switched to Borussia Dortmund. At the World Cup, Juranovic participated in all matches with the Croats, who returned from Qatar with bronze, up to and including the lost semi-final against Argentina (3-0).
