The Democratic Party has officially declared Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate for 2024. This decision was made by the General Chairperson of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) on Thursday (26/1/2023).
However, the Democrat Party’s decision was recently questioned by the public because on the same day the NasDem Party actually visited the Joint Secretariat Office of the Gerindra Party and PKB.
This was also asked by the Chairman of the Democratic Party’s High Council, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).
As seen on the Instagram account @jayalah.negeriku, it appears that SBY is being surrounded by media crews after having lunch at a Nasi Jamblang restaurant in Cirebon City, West Java.

It seems that SBY enthusiastically recounts the moment of eating with former ministers, deputy ministers, and colleagues who have served in the government.
“We will be traveling to Pacitan, East Java, but stopping by to taste Cirebon cuisine, especially Nasi Jamblang, are all happy,” explained SBY, quoted on Saturday (28/1/2023).
The 6th President of Indonesia also answered when asked about the meeting with village head representatives. “There is no such (result) yet,” said SBY.
However, SBY showed a different attitude when journalists questioned the Democratic Party’s political steps. “Sir, regarding the Democrats’ decision, sir?” asked some journalists.
Instead of being answered, SBY remained silent while being directed to divide the crowd of journalists. SBY also continues to remain silent even though similar questions continue to be asked.

On the other hand, it is known that the Democratic Party has officially declared support for Anies. Even through his press release, AHY as the Head of the Democratic Party encouraged the NasDem Party to form the Secretary of the Coalition for Change with the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).
However, on the same day the NasDem Party even visited the Gerindra-PKB Secretariat and sparked various speculations about the sustainability of the Coalition for Change.
According to political observer Hendri Satrio, the arrival of the NasDem Party to the Gerindra-PKB headquarters was intended to inflame the Democratic Party and PKS.
“The second objective, in my opinion, is the purpose of promoting as well. The coalition candidates for the NasDem, PKS, and Democrats, yes,” said Hensat, quoted from the official YouTube channel iNews.
According to him, NasDem is giving code to Democrats and PKS regarding the continuation of the coalition. “This is when we will actually make a secretariat,” he added.
