STOCKHOLM – Rasmus Paludan an anti-Islam politician, lamented after burn the Qur’an in a demonstration outside the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden, last Saturday. He admitted receiving multiple death threats.
Paludan, leader of the Danish far-right Hard Line (Stram Kurs) party, complained about the barrage of death threats in an interview with the Expressen newspaper.
According to Paludan, he thought he was expressing his attitude towards Turkey, and that was it, but the situation was different.
“It makes me sad because so many people are threatening to kill me,” he said, which was launched Monday (23/1/2023).

At the same time, this Swedish-Danish politician said he did not regret his actions, because according to him there were important political reasons for him.
The burning of the Muslim holy book took place in Stockholm last Saturday. The action was coordinated with local security forces and allowed under police supervision.
In his speech, Paludan criticized NATO, Turkey and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and showed caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad.

Islamic countries and the majority of Muslims strongly condemn Paludan’s action. They include Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Iran, Pakistan, Jordan, Malaysia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Egypt.
