According to trainer Erik ten Hag, Manchester United is in a good position to win a prize for the first time since 2017. Six years ago, United won the Europa League and the League Cup, but since then United have played a supporting role both nationally and internationally.
“That’s what it’s all about, winning trophies. We have a good chance, but you have to take it game by game. We now play Nottingham Forest over two games, but focus on the first game. Looking ahead only leads off.”
United will meet Forest on Wednesday in the semi-finals of the League Cup, England’s second cup tournament. Ten Hag’s team is also active in the FA Cup and the Europa League. Reading is the opponent in the FA Cup, FC Barcelona in the Europa League.
Ten Hag cannot have Diogo Dalot, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial against Nottingham Forest.
United’s last league title, which is fourth in the Premier League, dates back to 2013.
