The repeat rapist from Lleida, who sexually assaulted 19 women, is now free. The judges of the First Section of the Provincial Court agreed to reduce the sentence after applying the law of only yes is yes and after the attacker’s lawyer requested a review of his sentence. In this sense, the magistrates, who assessed the serious danger inherent in the facts they are prosecuting and the reprehensibility of the conduct, reduced the sentence by six years and has already finished serving it.
DP, who is currently 37 years old, committed his first sexual assault in 1999 on a woman when he was 14. Since then he has not stopped reoffending and took advantage of prison leave to act again, specifically ten to rape twelve women.

In May 2008, this rapist was released from prison since the Barcelona Court suspended his sentence because he had only been convicted of a crime of coercion and the sentence was less than two years. Reports from prison technicians warning of the high-risk profile of this individual, who by then had sexually assaulted 17 women, including several minors, were not taken into account.
A month after being released, he sexually assaulted a minor under 16 years of age and while the Mossos d’Esquadra tried to stop the predator, he acted again (in July 2008). There he raped another 17-year-old girl. Days later, this sexual predator was arrested and sent to provisional prison to await trial. The oral hearing was held in 2010, where he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the two sexual assaults and robbery with violence.
The order, dated January 23, has already been notified to the parties. It is not firm and it is possible to appeal to the Court.
