The outlook for Ubisoft does not look good. After disastrous launches, many delays and projects that failed miserably, the French studio has been forced to rethink its strategy and, incidentally, cancel many games in recent months.
Only this week the cancellation of 3 unannounced titles and one more delay for Skull and Bones were confirmed. As if that were not enough, Mario + Rabbids is at risk and there is a possibility that it will not have another installment in the future.
The damage count is not favourable, especially due to the high number of canceled projects, which is not reduced to the 3 recently confirmed titles. In addition, there are the games that are still in limbo and the long wait for important titles that are on the way to finally be released.

Ubisoft is canceling a lot of games, what’s left?
In addition to the 3 unannounced titles that the French studio has already cancelled, there are other projects that were also incomplete due to poor management. In July 2022, the cancellation of Ghost Recon Frontline, a free-to-play of the popular franchise, was announced.
In addition, the studio also decided to abandon Splinter Cell VR, a project that it had announced since September 2020. We also know that 2 other games that were kept secret were cancelled. So, Ubisoft decided to kill at least 7 projects in the last 6 months.
The situation is further complicated, as games like Skull and Bones, Beyond Good & Evil 2 and the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time are still in limbo. On the other hand, projects like the Avatar game still have no release date.
Ubisoft has its sights set on Assassin’s Creed, its successful franchise that will expand in the coming months with interesting projects. Will he be able to get ahead of this? Only time will tell.
