This image was taken last December by a NASA space probe launched on August 12, 2005 from Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Of course, this image does not imply giant bears on Mars, it is simply a form of the human tendency to see random shapes and match them with familiar shapes.
A copy of the image captured shows that the formation in question spans about 2,000 meters in diameter.
The University of Arizona interprets this image as simply a broken V-shaped hill in the middle of an ancient crater, on which a pool of lava and mud was deposited.
