TEL AVIV – The HAWK missile, which is classified as an old weapon made in the United States (US), apparently still has its own sharpness on the battlefield.
Recently there was a debate regarding HAWK missiles, because Israel, which still has these weapons, is reluctant to obey US orders to send these missiles to Ukraine.
Israel refused because it was worried it would trigger tensions with Russia, in which the two countries already have good relations.
There are several interesting facts related to HAWK missiles, including the following:
1. Operating Since 1960
According to Army Recognition, HAWK (Hoaming All the Way Killer) designed by the American Defense Company since 1954.
Tests for this weapon were first carried out in 1956. Until finally the HAWK missile became operational in the 1960s.
2. Was Once a Mainstay Weapon in Conflict Areas
Since its appearance in 1960, the HAWK missile has been in demand by several countries. It is recorded that this weapon was used during the crisis in Cuba, the Vietnam War, to the war in the Persian Gulf.
In addition, HAWK also took part in the battles between Palestine and Israel, the Iran-Iraq war, and Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait.
