KIEV – A total of 55 missiles Russia rain Ukraine in a day on Thursday after the United States (US) and Germany decided to supply battle tanks to Kiev. Military Commander of Ukraine General Valeriy Zaluzhny said the attack would not be able to destroy his country.
The Kiev military claims to have shot down 47 of the 55 missiles fired by Russia.
According to General Zaluzhny, 20 of the missiles were shot down en route to the Kiev region, during which a 55-year-old man was killed and two others were injured by shrapnel.

As a result of the Russian attack from the air and sea on Thursday morning—the 13th massive missile strike in the war in Ukraine—a total of 11 people were killed while 11 others were injured. This data is sourced from the Emergency Services of Ukraine.
“Russia’s goals remain unchanged: psychological pressure on Ukraine and destruction of critical infrastructure,” Zaluzhny wrote on Telegram.
“But we are indestructible!” continued the general as quoted by The Guardian, Friday (27/1/2023).
A huge explosion rocked Kiev at 10:06 a.m. local time on Thursday and raid sirens sounded across the country.
The targets of the attacks were power plants and substations. Several cities have taken the precaution of turning off power supplies to reduce the extent of the damage as reports surfaced of bombers and cruise missiles heading for targets in Ukraine.
The night before, Ukrainian air defense systems had shot down 24 Iranian-made Shahed kamikaze drones.
