MOSCOW – There are four intercontinental ballistic missiles known to be the mainstay of the Russian military.
In its status, Russia is known as a superpower that has qualified military power. In this case, they have a lot of advanced weaponry with terrible abilities.
Of the many, one that is quite interesting is the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM).
Here are a number of Russia’s mainstay intercontinental ballistic missiles that have terrible power.
1. RS-28 Sarmat
RS-28 Sarmat is one of Russia’s flagship Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). Quoting the Missile Threat page, Monday (16/1/2023), this missile has the NATO name “Satan”.
Historically, the RS-28 Sarmat was designed to replace the aging Russian SS-18. During its development, work on this ballistic missile began around the 2000s.
The RS-28 Sarmat is a liquid fuel missile that is said to be able to reach 18,000 km with a launch weight of 208.1 metric tons. This sophisticated missile has a diameter of about 3 m and a length of 35.3 m.
Known as the Heavy ICBM, the Sarmat can carry a payload of up to 10 tons with a variety of warhead options.
