More than 250 Saudi women have passed special security force training. Photo/Al Arabiya
RIYADH – More than 250 women in Arab Saudi recently graduated from the Women’s Training Institute specializing in diplomatic security and Hajj and Umrah security. This was reported by the Saudi Arabian news agency, Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
“The women are graduates of the fourth batch to complete training at the institute,” said the SPA report as quoted by Al Arabiya, Friday (13/1/2023).
According to SPA, the ceremony was held under the patronage of the Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud and was attended by the Director of Public Security, Lieutenant General Muhammad bin Abdullah Al Bassami.

Saudi Arabia in 2019 announced it would allow women in the Gulf kingdom to serve in the armed forces.
Both men and women in Saudi Arabia can apply for positions in the military through the country’s defense ministry’s unified recruitment portal.
Women can apply to join the Saudi Arabian Army, Royal Saudi Air Defense, Royal Saudi Navy, Royal Saudi Strategic Missile Forces, and Armed Forces Medical Services.
According to the ministry of defense, they can also be recruited as soldiers, ensign corporal, corporal, sergeant and staff sergeant.
