Historic Bavarian brand, Zundapp is now passed into the hands of a Chinese company that on the occasion of Intermot 2022 has unveiled to the public a medium-displacement adventure with the name of ZXA 500. Stylistically it is impossible not to notice a strong resemblance to the Ducati Multistrada: from the “beak” fender to the headlights and the shapes of the tank plastics, clearly inspired by the globetrotter from Borgo Panigale, which we will see at Eicma in the vRally version with V4 engine.
As for the technique, however, to push the ZXA 500 thinks a 476 cc parallel twin liquid-cooled with double shaft distribution with maximum power perfectly in line with the A2 license: the house declares 47,6 CV. The steel frame is then combined with an upside-down fork and a rear shock absorber, while the braking system features three discs, a pair at the front and a single disc at the rear, all supervised by ABS.
Continuing with the technical data sheet, the manufacturer declares a total weight of the bike of 196 kg in odm with a full tank of petrol (18 liters) while the saddle is positioned at 80 cm from the ground, therefore relatively low for a crossover / enduro. The wheels are spoked with tubeless tires but in 17 ”road size both front and rear.
Finally, the engine guard bars and the suitcase setwhich is not clear if they will be optional or will be offered as standard, while the technological equipment sees Full-LED optical groups, display LCD a colori, a USB socket and a 12V, a small one glove compartment located on the left side of the rear shield (just like in the Ducati Multistrada) and finally the Plexiglas is adjustable by hand, without the use of tools.
