It seems that Embracer Group, the company that already owns studios such as Gearbox and Crystal Dynamics, does not plan to keep the portfolio. We say this because, in addition to getting the rights to The Lord of the Rings, he has now bought from a major anime distributor.
What happens is that, according to information from Blickpunkt:Film, PLAION Group completed the purchase of Anime Limited, one of the most important anime distributors in the United Kingdom. In case you don’t know, PLAION Group is a division of Embracer Group which was previously known as Koch Media.
At the moment there are no further details about this acquisition. In this way, we do not know how much was paid for it or what are the plans that Embracer Group has for PLAION Group. Hopefully once the official announcement is made we will know more about it.
