The new electric Jeep Avenger makes its big public debut today at the 2022 Paris Motor Show. Normally you have to wait weeks for further specifications with a new model, but not this time. Jeep immediately releases the Jeep Avenger range, power and price!
We start with the price of the Jeep Avenger. In the Netherlands, this amounts to 40,500 euros. That is quite in line with the market, for example, a Peugeot e-2008 starts at just under 38,000 euros. And the price of the Jeep also applies to the 1st Edition, a limited version that according to Jeep is very fully equipped. In any case, the Jeep Avenger is equipped with Selec Terrain and Hill Descent Control. Together with the large approach and departure angles and generous ground clearance, these systems guarantee impressive off-road capability, says Jeep. That’s all possible, but the chance that you encounter a wolf in the wild in the Netherlands is now many times greater than that you see a Jeep driving up a hill.
Jeep Avenger range
Jeep has a reputation to uphold as a brand of legendary off-road vehicles such as the Wrangler, but the Avenger does not have a 4×4. The Jeep Avenger has ‘only’ front-wheel drive. Terribly? Well no. Since the arrival of the also front-wheel drive Compass and Renegade, we are used to this. The fact that the Jeep Avenger is fully electric may be something for fans of the brand to swallow. The power of the electric motor is 156 hp. The torque is 260 Nm. The range of the Jeep Avenger is 400 kilometers on average and 550 kilometers in the city (both WLTP).
Jeep Avenger: laden
The electric motor of the Jeep Avenger is from the French manufacturer Emotors, a joint venture between Stellantis (which includes Jeep) and another party, Nidec Leroy-Somer Holding. Stellantis produces the 54 kWh battery all by itself. If you want to charge the battery from 20% to 80% of the capacity with a 100 kW fast charger (DC, direct current), you don’t have to take more than 24 minutes for a bathroom break. With an 11 kW Mode 3 charging cable for alternating current (AC) it is possible to charge the battery from 0% to 100% in 5.5 hours.
Center console? Get rid of it!
The Jeep Avenger has a luggage space of 380 liters. The lifting sill is low (720 mm) while the width of the loading opening is more than one metre. This should make loading things extra easy. An additional 34 liters of storage space are available in the interior. The center console can be moved or even removed completely to make room for larger items.
Less annoyance in traffic jams
The safety equipment of the Jeep Avenger is fine. It is equipped with, for example, Blind Spot Monitoring and Lane Keeping Assist. And it offers the possibility to drive autonomously on Level 2. This keeps the car in the middle of the lane and at a safe distance from the vehicle in front. The system also includes Traffic Jam Assist, which takes over the stopping and starting in traffic jams. That makes driving in traffic jams less annoying.

Jeep Avenger is new slip-on
The Jeep Avenger is brand new, so where does it come in the Jeep model range? At least under the Renegade. The Avenger is a fairly compact SUV in the B-segment. It is 4.08 m long, which makes it 16 cm shorter than the Renegade. The Avenger is the new entry-level Jeep, but in terms of price, it is still rather against the more expensive Compass (from 42,800 euros). However, the now released price is for an extra complete introduction version, so no doubt even cheaper versions will follow.
Yes, finally a real name again
Nice detail is that the X-shape of a jerrycan returns in the taillights, just like with the Renegade. You used to see that jerry can on the back of the US Army Willys Jeep. We also like that Jeep took the time to come up with a real name for its latest model, even though Dodge has used it in the past. Avenger sounds a lot better than ID.5, bZ4X, Atto 3 or even simpler: 3 (Polestar) and 6 (Ioniq/Hyundai).
Of course you choose the yellow
To return to the price of the Jeep Avenger: that is for the special 1st Edition. For 40,500 euros you get LED lighting all around, 18-inch alloy, a heated windscreen, 10.25-inch digital instruments, a 10-inch infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a hands-free tailgate and luxury heated seats. The introduction version is available in yellow with black roof, gray with black roof or completely black. Of course you go for the first option, just like we would. You can register for the 1st Edition on the Jeep website until December 1.
