The Gerudo Citadelwhich can be accessed without dressing as a woman with a trick, is guarded by the Gerudo Guard. It is a team of brave warriors trained to protect their population and, like any good military group, is divided into different squads by ranks with a hierarchy of power.
It is something that can be seen with the naked eye, but it is not reflected with chevrons, but with colors. Seeing the color of the garments of these soldiers, you can distinguish to what rank they belong, as well as what their responsibilities are. It could be said that it becomes an open secret among the Gerudo in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, although, since it is not explained at any point in the game, for the player, it is something that can go unnoticed.
These are the different Gerudo Guard ranks according to their colors. Be careful, it only applies to these warriors, the rest of the town can dress them indistinctly:
Azul – Lower rank of the Gerudo Guard. You can see them in most parts of the Gerudo Citadel and they usually guard the gates.Verde – Superior rank of the Gerudo Guard. Less visible, they are usually in important areas or where there are people important to their society, such as Riju herself.Rojo – Captain of the Gerudo Guard. Only Nayna carries it.
