Having an orgasm is one of the most pleasurable sensations that anyone can feel; however, being able to achieve more than one multiplies all the effects of enjoyment during the sexual moment.
In the case of women, being multiorgasmic is one of the most desired abilities, and although it has been said that very few have the ability to be, the truth is that we can all experience it.
Therefore, in order to know and define the profile of a multi-orgasmic woman, a study published in The Journal of Sex Research conducted a survey of around 419 women in 2020. Likewise, La República contacted the Colombian psychologist and sexologist Norma Bejarano to express his point of view on this type of orgasm.
What is multi-orgasm?
In 1966, researchers John Masters and Virginia Johnson suggested classifying female multiple orgasm into two types: “repeated” (multiple) and “sequential” (status orgasmus).
Repeated orgasms refer to a series of orgasms separated by rest periods during which sexual arousal does not fall below the plateau level, whereas sequential orgasms refer to a series of rapidly recurring orgasmic experiences between which there is no break. they may demonstrate recordable levels of plateau phase, or a single prolonged orgasmic episode that can last from 20 to more than 60 seconds.
On the other hand, the specialist Norma Bejarano pointed out in the same way that a multi-orgasm “is a stimulus that is sustained over time so that the woman can reach this point of climax several times.”

What is the profile of the multi-orgasmic woman?
The women who participated in this research reported that their serial orgasms had a rest period of 1 to 3 min between each orgasm. Likewise, it was found that the longest multi-orgasm in a couple was 13 minutes and 19 seconds, while the multi-orgasm was 7 minutes and 16 seconds.
On the other hand, this study set out to create the female multiple orgasm profile with six main factors: general sexual motivation, age of onset of solo sexual activities (masturbation), current levels of sexual desire, age of onset of sexual activity in a couple, multi-orgasmic capacity and time parameters. However, four different profiles of multi-orgasmic women were found:
Profile 1: their sexual life as a couple began before their sexual activity alone. Their motivation indicates that they feel more motivated by their partner, so their ability to have multiple orgasms will be better accompanied than alone. Profile 2: the largest group of women. Their sexual initiation is at an early age (masturbation for 11 years and with a partner for 16 years), so this early activity could have contributed very well to their multi-orgasmic capacity. Profile 3: they report the lowest general sexual motivation scores in the sample. These women are also more likely to report that they are married and have a significantly shorter duration of sexual activity compared to the rest. Profile 4: Smallest group of women (3% of the sample). Your significantly superior multi-orgasmic capabilities. They have a longer duration of sexual interaction (43.33 minutes) and suggest that their multi-orgasmic experiences are unusual.

This study proposes that the female multiple orgasm is not the result of a particular recipe, but that some women can get there in one way and others in another; that is, there are several psychosexual patterns that can lead to multiple orgasm.
Regarding this study, the professional consulted by this newspaper agreed that sexual motivation, the beginning of sexual life and the relationship with the partner are some of the factors that influence the profile of multi-orgasmic women.
“This female experiences much more intense physical arousal than other women, because they have learned to do it this way, so they take their arousal to a much broader physical and psychological threshold and maintain it for periods of time. You have to learn to hold it,” she said.
Can all women be multi-orgasmic?
Yes, all women have the ability to be. For the expert, the most important question is “what a woman should be for.”
“If one orgasm is enough for them, then that’s fine. Sometimes multi-orgasms become imperative and if they don’t come they despair. This is not how it should be,” she emphasized.
In the same way, Bejarano stressed that although everyone can have multiple orgasms, there are women who are more sensitive than others and cannot stimulate the clitoris for a long time.
“There are women who are multi-orgasmic, but they are very sensitive. Then they need to stop, because as much as they want to have one after another, this one begins to bother them. Instead, there are others they can have one after the other and have no problem,” she said.
How to achieve a multi-orgasm?
Norma Bejarano pointed out that to achieve this type of orgasm you have to constantly work on the ability to amplify the stimulus in the clitoris. Although it can be done by hand, the specialist also recommended the use of a vibrator to sustain masturbation for a long period of time.
“The vibrator with a lot of power or medium power can be recommended, but you should start with some of low power so that they can chain the possible orgasms slowly, since we do not know how many they can be,” said the expert.
Finally, she stressed that a period of time must be dedicated to training (weeks or a couple of months) to achieve multi-orgasmic.
