This week, Warner has put the blender on full power, but has forgotten to put the lid on the jar. The cancellation of the Batgirl movie has been the starting point of a trail of changes, confirmed and rumored.
One such clue points to two of the next big DC Films releases: Shazam!: Rage of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, there is a possibility that both films will suffer a new delay in their respective release dates.
Right now, the sequel to Shazam! is scheduled for the December 21, 2022, a week after Avatar: The sense of water landed in theaters. As for the sequel to Aquaman, its premiere is expected to take place in March 17, 2022.
Both films saw their release dates altered earlier in the year. Shazam! The fury of the gods advanced its original date, which was going to be produced in the summer of 2023.
If you like series like Friends, The Sopranos or Game of Thrones, HBO Max has these and many more in its catalog.
The Hollywood Reporter has not made it clear what reasons would cause these delays in the premieres of Shazam! 2 and Aquaman 2. It has been suggested that the inclusion of Ben Affleck in Jason Momoa’s film would be the reason behind its delay.
Apparently, test audiences would have found the appearance of the Batman de Keaton in the film directed by James Wan.
For now, Warner has neither confirmed nor denied that the release dates for Shazam! The Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are going to change.
We will have to see how the changes that the Warner Bros. Discovery board imposes in their attempts to bring order to the iconic studio’s altered last decade continue.
Do you think that Warner will end up modifying, again, the release dates of the sequels of Shazam! and Aquaman?
