Developer Frogwares recently announced a remake of the game Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened.
With remakes all the rage right now, Frogwares figured a remake of the 2007 point-and-click Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened wouldn’t hurt and announced a remake of the classic. In order to realize the project, a Kickstarter campaign will be started soon.
The first trailer for the game, a video update from the team, and more details on game mechanics will be released with the launch of the Kickstarter campaign. In the meantime, you can have a look at the first screenshots from the remake, which you can find in this gallery:
According to the original: “The famous Sherlock Holmes series returns with a modernized version of The Awakened that takes the Frogwares classic to a whole new level.
While retaining the traditional point and click style of the original adventure games, The Awakened has been completely rethought and a new third-person perspective has been added to the game while retaining the original first-person perspective.
In this game you are in the midst of an investigation into the mythos of Cthulhu – as envisioned by author HP Lovecraft. Sherlock Holmes, aided by the faithful Doctor Watson, investigates strange disappearances that lead him to a secret cult. The adventure begins in London, on the famous Baker Street, takes you to Bale, Switzerland, where you must investigate a spooky psychiatric hospital, takes you to Louisiana and finally to Scotland.”
The game will be released on all major platforms. If there’s any more news about Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, we’ll let you know.
