The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) and the Regional Government of Ayacucho signed an inter-institutional cooperation agreement with the aim of decentralizing the use of natural gas and promoting its intensive use.
Through the agreement, signed by the Vice Minister of Hydrocarbons, Juan Sánchez Izquierdo, and the regional governor of Ayacucho, Carlos Alberto Rúa Carbajal, the latter undertakes to provide the necessary support for the implementation of projects aimed at the massification of natural gas.

Since April of this year, the Minem has allocated a budget of S/ 150 million to execute the Special Infrastructure Project for the massification of natural gas in the interior regions of the country; which includes in its first stage the regions of Ayacucho, Cusco and Ucayali; and to the regions of Huancavelica, Apurímac, Puno and Junín, as a second stage.
“The development of the natural gas industry will allow us to have a diversified and efficient energy matrix, avoiding in the future the dependence on those fuels that we do not have and whose acquisition has a negative impact on the Peruvian economy due to fluctuations. of prices”, said the Minem.
