According to the survey, 52% of the players believe that the metaverse will change the video game industry, tending to 41% who think that this parallel virtual world will generate positive impacts on the gaming industry, something that 25% are in disagreement.
Nicolas Avila, chief technology officer at Globant North America indicated that: “Through this survey, we see that, although the development of the metaverse is still in its early stages, gamers already see the technology as capable of expanding the possibilities in the game. gaming field.
“As awareness of the metaverse and its capabilities becomes more common, we hope to see this sentiment spread to more people across industries,” he added.
Finally, 39% of those surveyed indicated that the gaming metaverse will mature in less than five years and almost as many people (38%) believe it will take longer. The report also ensures that 35% welcome advertising in the metaverse, while 25% say they are undecided and 40% feel uncomfortable.
