Like all games, the Epic Games Store gives us a couple of free games for PC, to enjoy this weekend without having to pay anything, and in many cases surprise us with titles and genres that we might not try otherwise.
Starting today, Thursday, July 7, and until July 14 at 5:00 p.m. CEST (Spanish peninsular time), you can download for free Ancient Enemy y Killing Floor 2. You can find them at this link.
In addition, they have confirmed the free games for next week, between July 14 and 21: Wonder Boy The Dragon’s Trap and a pack for Idle Champions of Forgotten Realms.
Let’s look at this week’s games first. On the one hand, Ancient Enemya card-fighting RPG in a ruined world, with spells and abilities, in the style of Darkest Dungeon or Slay the Spire.
Graphically, it’s not very sophisticated at all (it’s a adaptation of a traditional card game), but promises a wide variety of cards and strategies, as well as a story rooted in folklore with different paths to choose from.
The other game is bloodier: Killing Floor 2, a cooperative multiplayer shooter in which you free continental Europe from bloodthirsty clones called Zeds. It originally came out in 2016, and here we leave you with the analysis from then.
Gaming has very particular demands in terms of connection. That makes it surely a good idea to bet on a gaming router.
Next week, they’ll be giving away a free game, Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, and a free to play pack set in the world of D&D.
Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms is a Dungeons & Dragons world strategy game that brings together characters from across the Dungeons & Dragons multiverse. Between July 14 and 21 they will give away the pack Baeloth’s Gladiators of the Black Pitsvalued at over $100!
Idle Champions is a free to play D&D game, but if you log in to the game (via the Epic Games Store launcher, of course) between July 14 and 21, you’ll receive this Epic-exclusive pack for free, which includes the champions Deekin (Slot 1), Widdle (Slot 2), Baeloth (Slot 4), Freely (Slot 7), and Havilar (Slot 9), as well as other chests.
Remembering WONDER BOY! Adventures on a scooter in the Chocheluismos
The other game will be more to the taste of retro fans, because it’s Lizardcube and Dotemu’s remake of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, a Sega Master System classic like you never imagined, with hand-drawn graphics and re-orchestrated sound.
As we said in his review, Wonder Boy is a spectacular remake, a lesson in how remakes should be done. But don’t forget that it’s still a Master System game… and don’t expect it to be easy.
