Forspoken, l’action-RPG di Square Enix, has been postponed. The publisher today announced the postponement of the game for PlayStation 5 and PC in January 2023. The game was previously scheduled for release in October.
Square Enix said:
Following ongoing discussions with key partners, we have made the strategic decision to move the launch date of Forspoken to January 24, 2023 ″
The company stated that “all elements of the game” have been completed and that the remaining development time will be used for the “final finishing”. More details on Forspoken will arrive later this summer.
The company added:
We would like to thank you for your continued support and patience on this journey. Your enthusiasm for the game inspires us every day and we can’t wait to share more information about Forspoken with you over the course of the summer.
Forspoken had been initially revealed as Project Athia before getting the final title. The game follows protagonist Frey Holland (played by Charlie’s Angels’ Ella Balinska), a contemporary New Yorker with a cat named Homer, who is transported to the magical world of Athia.
Frey discovers she has magical abilities in Athia and is also capable of withstanding the Break, a magical storm-like phenomenon that the average citizen of Athia cannot survive. The only thing he wants to do, though, is go home.The cast of Forspoken also includes Star Wars actress Janina Gavankar, while the story was written in part by Gary Whitta, Amy Hennig, Todd Stashwick and Allison Rymer.
