With the fall in the price of cryptocurrencies, the NFT fraud scandals and the instability in the sector, thinking of such a video game could be nonsense. At least that as a first idea, however, there are those who consider that this may be a time with the right conditions to make their proposal a reality, such as a couple of PlayStation veterans who today presented their study and their first video game that will appeal to what we just mentioned.
PlayStation veterans present Ashfall, crypto game with NFT, blockchain and Web 3.0
Michael Mumbauer and John Garvin, the former with experience in the area of visual arts in franchises such as Uncharted and The Last of Us, the second creative director and writer of Days Gone, presented their studio Liithos and their first project, Ashfall, a survival game based on Web 3.0, cryptocurrencies and NFT planned for consoles and PCs. According to the creators and founders of Liithos, Ashfall will be the first AAA game of its kind and for this it will rely on the interconnection proposals of Web 3.0 to create a huge world with a multiplayer proposal and PvP, PvE modes.

Ashfall comes at a difficult time for this digital sector
According to Ashfall’s description of the concept and project, the game will use the cryptocurrency of the Hedera digital environment, HBAR, known to be a native and energy-efficient asset. Regarding the interconnection of the players and the game itself, it is pointed out: “Web 3 will unlock the power to transform the way we engage with entertainment. Imagine reading your favorite comic or watching the latest season of a show you love, except that they’re all based on the same amazing world. Even better, by watching the show, you get something that adds incredible value to your enjoyment of the game.”
Ashfall is a narrative driven world that brings out the best in the artists that @LiithosEnt is collaborating with. As a comic fan myself, it was an absolute honor to work with Brett Booth on the Ashfall digital comic. @John_Garvin vision for Ash along with Booth’s work. Amazing! pic.twitter.com/7gkWbu0WeU

For its part, Ashfall’s description tells of a multiplayer in a world affected by climate change: “Pacific Northwest, hundreds of years in the future. Global warming has caused massive floods and fires. The appearances of the Trace, pockets of dark energy, have wreaked havoc on the climate and human lives, decimating entire cities. Civilization has collapsed in local enclaves where humanity struggles to survive.”
Supported by the idea of Transmedia, Liithos and the Ashfall project point towards an experience that grants rewards to players and promotes internal trade, hence also betting on a type of NFT that could be obtained through the different means in which the game and its history appear.
