Sublime footballer, successful coach, but Zinedine Zidane is much more. Zizou has left a deep mark even off the pitch, with his history, his mistakes, his contradictions. Accustomed to considering sports champions almost as superheroes, we were also fascinated by the weaknesses of a man who proudly carried within him his origins and a childhood in which it would have been easy to take the wrong path at the crossroads of life. Zidane paid for his mistakes and this makes him much closer to us than to the champions who often tend to forgive even the unforgivable. He never asked for discounts and went ahead with his head held high.
