The words of the bishop in the homily during the funeral of little Elena Del Pozzo: he asked not to hate his mother
The funeral of the little girl was celebrated yesterday, Wednesday 22 June Elena Del Pozzo. Bishop Luigi Renna, in his homily also wanted to say something about the hatred of the people towards Martina Patti. On the walls they also wrote sentences of hatred for the woman.
The little girl 4 years, she died after being killed by her mother. She inflicted it 11 stab woundswho have left no way out.
The church of Catania was packed of people. Outside, upon the arrival of the body, everyone welcomed her with a long applause of emotion. The father and all his family members were in the front row and none of them managed to hold back tears. The bishop said during the homily:
I read on the walls of our city a sentence asking for eternal rest for little Elena, and this is beautiful. On the same wall, however, I also asked for eternal torment for the child’s mother.
I don’t think Elena would agree with those words, exactly like any other child. Parents need to learn from their children. Do not teach the violence of words, either online or on the walls of our cities.
Jesus has placed children at the center of his work and we have placed our Helen at the center to learn not to conceive of revenge, summary trials or electric chairs anymore. Children are pure of heart: if one day there should be other small victims, it will be because adults have once again sown hatred and irrationality.

As everyone had imagined, there were inside and outside the church lots of people. Especially many mothers, who would never have expected that one of them would ever be able to do such a thing. The bishop at the end of his speech, he stated:
From today Elena will protect all the disputed children, who suffer from the inability to love adults. We do not sow the weeds of anger and revenge.
Everyone at the end of this homily has clapped his hands for these speech. The bishop also went to the first row where the child’s family were and gave two kisses to his father Alessandro, who was not at all able to hold back the tears.
