Cheaper on holiday with a hybrid that charges faster? That’s so (un) senseless

More and more plug-in hybrids have a CCS charging port, with which you can charge faster in between and – in theory – drive much more on electricity. Can you really save fuel (and money) by ‘plugging in’ as much as possible along the way? We put it to the test towards the south of France.
