Don’t call it a facelift, this update. Because you will not immediately find visual novelties on the outside with the “RAV4 2023”. Even so, if you leave out the only new paint color, Platinum white with a contrasting black roof if desired. So what’s new?
If you look at new cars in recent years, one thing immediately stands out: the screens in the interiors continue to grow. The Toyota RAV4 is now jumping on that train with the introduction of a new 10.5-inch infotainment system that also houses upgraded software. The driver also gets a 12.3-inch screen right in front of him from the Dynamic equipment level. The new software now also allows you to talk to your RAV4. With the command “Hey Toyota” you can give certain commands to the system.
In terms of safety, Toyota is expanding its already comprehensive Safety Sense for the RAV4. As a result, the RAV4 will have intersection support from this autumn, so that the RAV4 keeps an eye on you when you cross an intersection. If there is a threat (car, bicycle or pedestrian), the RAV4 will give an auditory signal or apply the brakes itself. Emergency Steering Assist is also new and helps the driver avoid a pedestrian on the road while keeping the car under control and within its lane. On the RAV4 Plug-in, the system can also recognize and respond to bicycles and parked vehicles.
The fifth generation of the RAV4 will remain available after the update with a 218 hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder (222 hp for the AWD variant) or a plug-in hybrid version with 306 hp. Production of the Toyota RAV4 2023 will start in the third quarter of 2022.
