Speculation about the future of Takumi Minamino has become one of the things that has attracted attention in recent times, the lack of playing opportunities has made him continuously linked with Liverpool’s exit.
In the 2021/22 season, Minamino did manage to lead the Reds to win two domestic titles, namely the FA Cup and League Cup, unfortunately, the Japanese player is still not Jurgen Klopp’s first choice and has only appeared in 22 matches with 894 minutes played.
Even though he has scored important goals several times, Takumi Minamino is still not satisfied with his achievements with Liverpool, even the player who was loaned to Southampton also feels disappointed because his contribution also seems to be underappreciated by the public.
“Many matches that I play are considered unattractive by the public. Even if I perform well and make a positive impact on the squad, the response I receive is also very minimal. It makes me try to appreciate myself more to prove the quality I have,” Minamino told Goal.
“I feel motivated by regret and anger every day, I don’t get much playing time here. It also makes it difficult for me to stay in shape and connect with feelings.”
“As a player, of course I want to always do my best and help the team achieve good results in important matches,” explained the player with the Japanese passport.
Takumi Minamino is actually still under contract until 2024 at Anfield, but the latest news says that he has the opportunity to be released, especially since there are several clubs that are ready to fight for his signature, including AS Monaco, Atalanta and Olympique Lyon.
