PSG is one of the big clubs in Ligue 1 and Europe that has been under the spotlight regarding changes in management. Failure in the Champions League is the main trigger. Leonardo’s position as Director of Football has now been replaced by Luis Campos.
The arrival of Luis Campos will be followed by a change of the main coach. Mauricio Pochettino is expected to receive a significant contract termination compensation of 15 million euros. Zinedine Zidane had been linked with a potential replacement, but the news has cooled in recent days.
According to a report from L’Equipe, PSG’s management will soon reach an agreement with another coach. Christophe Galtier (OGC Nice) is the person being targeted. Galtier has had a positive reputation in the mid-table of French football in the last decade.
The 55-year-old coach led Lille to win Ligue 1 in the 2020/21 season. Galtier also had a positive relationship with Luis Campos while the two were at Lille. With Nice in the 2021/22 season, Galtier led the team to the French Cup final.
Galtier has also been awarded as the best coach in France in the 2012/13, 2018/19 and 2020/21 seasons. To bring Galtier, PSG is estimated to cost 10 million Euros, considering the coach’s contract still has two years remaining with Nice.
