Including crazy electric bus
Ford will be making an appearance during the Goodwood Festival of Speed in a special way. The new Ranger Raptor makes its dynamic public debut, but dressed as a Very Gay Raptor. In addition, Ford will bring a probably crazy electric bus that listens to the name Electric SuperVan.
The new Ford Ranger is the first to arrive in Europe as a fierce Raptor. That Ranger Raptor hoists Ford in a rainbow jacket. The special outfit is accompanied by a remarkable name. Ford calls his cheerfully stickered Ranger Raptor Very Gay Raptor (VGR).
Ford says it wants to reinforce its Tough Talks with the Very Ray Raptor, where the brand discusses, among other things, how the automotive industry can establish “a culture of inclusiveness and connection with the LGBTQ+ community.” There’s also more concrete automotive news from Ford at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Ford Pro Electric SuperVan
During the annual British car festival, Ford presents the Pro Electric SuperVan. Anyone familiar with historic Ford models will undoubtedly know the brand’s SuperVans. In 1971 the first SuperVan appeared, a crazy colossus with the body of the then current Transit but with the chassis and the more than 400 hp strong 4.9 V8 racing engine of the Ford GT40. Thirteen years later, that SuperVan was followed by the SuperVan 2, a Transit with a fiberglass body similar to the Transit’s and a Group C race car with a Cosworth 3.9 V8 underneath. The SuperVan 3 followed in 1995, which was technically based on the SuperVan 2 but which resembled the then current Transit. However, the 3.9 V8 was replaced by a Formula 1 650 hp 3.5 V8 from Cosworth.
The Pro Electric SuperVan is, as its name implies, equipped with a fully electric powertrain. With the colossus – of which no image has yet been released – Ford naturally tries to draw attention to the recently presented E-Transit Custom.
