Emicida is the first confirmed attraction for the second edition of Afropunk Bahia, scheduled for November 26 and 27 at Parque de Exposições, in Salvador. The rapper from São Paulo takes the stage on the opening day of the festival.
According to the organization, there will be 26 hours of party and more than 30 national and foreign artists. Tickets are now available on the Sympla website, with prices ranging from R$80 to R$460 (1st lot).
Afropunk arrived in Brazil with its first edition on November 27, 2021. In the program, there were names like Mano Brown and Margareth Menezes, who took the stage at the Marés space, at the Salvador Convention Center.
The vocalist of Racionais MC’s sang alongside the singer Duquesa, a bet on R&B, while the samba singer from Bahia performed alongside the carioca Malía.
Because of the Covid pandemic, the event was postponed in 2020 and last year had a smaller and hybrid format, with online transmission through the official website.
With the intention of extolling black and Afro-indigenous protagonism, the program also featured Tássia Reis with the Afro group Ilê Aiyê, the Bahian Luedji Luna alongside the duo Youún, in addition to the singer Urias in partnership with Vírus.
The capital of Bahia was chosen as the main point of Afropunk in the country because it is known as the blackest city outside Africa. The festival was born in 2005 in New York, and since then it has been held in cities such as Atlanta (United States), Paris (France), London (England) and Johannesburg (South Africa).
