The mega Rolling Stones fan went viral last week when she cursed the band in front of the Shownieuws camera. The performance in the Johan Cruijff ArenA was canceled at the very last minute because Mick Jagger had corona. Corry grumbled about the ‘cunt stairs’ and then stormed off furiously with the message ‘that she would rather go to Frans Bauer next time’.
Reason enough for Niels van der Laan and Jeroen Woe to invite her to their program Even tot Hier. When the gentlemen ask Corry how she is doing now, she still says she is disappointed. She has now processed Monday’s disappointment, but says that she is sorry that she cannot go to the catch-up concert of The Stones on July 7th.
Corry has been a fan of the band for 40 years. “I go everywhere, from Las Vegas to Germany. I visit at least three concerts a year,” she says in the NPO’s ratings hit on Saturday evening. The Rolling Stones have helped her through a difficult period. Corry explains: “My daughter had a stroke and was taken away with sirens blaring. That was a difficult time for me. Their music means everything, it is a common thread through my life. I took a lot of comfort from that when my daughter was in a bad position .”
Fortunately, her daughter is now doing better and, as a surprise, she booked a weekend in Paris for her and her mother, as a way of making up for the canceled concert. But – you’re not making it up – that falls exactly on July 7, when The Rolling Stones return to the Netherlands to make up for the concert. “That really sucks. Really yelled at my daughter. She should never have done it, she should have waited for a message. Now I can’t go there because she can’t cancel it and I don’t want her on the chasing costs. So I have to sell my card,” says Corry.
Earlier in the broadcast, Niels and Jeroen spoke with Miranda, who is not very wealthy and has no money for outings. One plus one is therefore two for the gentlemen from Even to Hier, and that is why they propose that Corry give her tickets to Miranda. Corry goes personally to hand them over, but Even tot Hier does not send her home empty-handed. When the überfan unsuspectingly returns to her car, she finds an envelope with a ticket for The Stones… in Brussels! “This is the most beautiful gift I’ve ever received,” she says in tears.
