Speculation about the future of Kylian Mbappe has become one of the things that has attracted attention in recent months, the absence of an agreement on a new contract has made him continue to be linked with the exit of Paris Saint-Germain.
Real Madrid was favored to immediately secure his signature, especially when news circulated that the two parties had reached a verbal agreement.
Florentino Perez tells @elchiringuitotv: “Macron called Mbappé, it makes no sense. PSG offered him to be the leader of the project, it changed everything. I didn’t see same Kylian Mbappé that we wanted”. ⚪️ #Mbappe
“Here, no one is bigger than Real Madrid. It won’t change”.

But the public was then taken aback by Mbappe’s decision, the 23-year-old finally chose to stay at the Parc des Princes and signed a new contract until 2025.
Had chosen to remain silent, now the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, finally spoke up, the Spaniard also discussed the failure of Mbappe to join the Santiago Bernabeu.
“Kylian Mbappe didn’t betray me at all. He had a dream to play for Real Madrid, that’s true. PSG didn’t want to let him go last August,” said Florentino Perez as reported by Football Espana.

“We waited for a year and Mbappe still said the same thing. Fifteen days (before he made a decision), the situation changed due to political pressure and economic factors,” he continued.
“Mbappe did what he thought was easiest. He changed. It seems we don’t need to talk about that anymore. The pressure makes him have to change his dream. Mbappe is still very young. Yes, pressure from outside does have an effect on us, but young players feel it more. It doesn’t make sense to see the French president, Emmanuel Macron, call him. That’s what influenced him to stay at PSG,” explained the 75-year-old man.
Despite failing to secure Mbappe’s signature, Real Madrid seems to be actively adding to the squad strength in the summer of 2022, after recruiting Antonio Rudiger, they have also just inaugurated the transfer of Aurelien Tchouameni from AS Monaco.
