The Dutch cycling team Jumbo-Visma has withdrawn from the Tour of Switzerland due to a corona case within the team. Two weeks before the start of the Tour de France, the team management thinks this is the most sensible decision. Jumbo-Visma does not want to say who has tested positive for the corona virus.
The riders of the Dutch team are missing on Thursday at the start of the fifth stage. “For the time being, the situation has no consequences for our shortlist for the Tour de France, although we have to wait and see what happens in the coming days,” Jumbo-Visma said in a statement.
The Tour de Suisse is an important preparatory race for the Tour de France, which starts on July 1 in Copenhagen.
