And now we share that of Byron Sepúlveda, a young man from Puente Alto who will represent Chile in kickboxing, who also shares a passion for video games and anime with many other young people.
Something that he has emphasized in an interview with the Portal Puente Alto media outlet, where he indicated that his love for contact sports was born from the story of the movie Rocky and also from the anime Fighting Spirit.
Byron is 23 years old and has always had a shy and quiet profile, but very hard-working, which has borne fruit, since he was recently notified that he was selected nationally to compete in the WKF (World Kickboxing Federation) Kickboxing Cup of the Andes. in Mendoza, Argentina, this coming June 26.
It was his teacher, Roberto Zamorano, who has known him for 8 years, who informed him of his nomination for the National Kickboxing Team, as Byron tells the Puente Altino newspaper: “I found out via message, Professor Roberto told me, at first he didn’t I took a lot of importance to it, but then I realized that I am going to travel, to represent the country, what I am going to do is not something small. I feel good and grateful for this opportunity.”
What is also striking is that if you don’t know the plot of the manga and anime that inspired this young man to dedicate himself to this discipline, Fighting Spirit tells the story of a very reserved and very shy 17-year-old who works with his mother in a family business, who while being beaten by bullies from his school who bullied him, is saved by a famous boxer named Mamoru Takamura, who trains him to be a professional boxer.
A story very similar to that of Byron, to whom we already wish him the best of success so that he repeats the achievement he obtained previously, since he was the South American champion in Uruguay, who also indicates that he has high expectations for this new challenge.
“I know that I will meet very strong people, but I am going to give it my all, I want to win, I have prepared myself fully, with training matches of up to 12 rounds,” he said.
