Turbine Potsdam does not come to rest. After the fuss about the dismissal of coach Sofian Chahed and the resignation of club president Rolf Kutzmutz, the club must now also announce the departure of top performer Merle Barth.

Here is our comment on President Kutzmutz’s resignation
“The entire club would like to thank Merle Barth for her commitment, her commitment, her deep loyalty and her team spirit. We wish her maximum success, health, happiness and satisfaction for the future,” says an official message on the turbine -homepage.
After Sara Agrez (to VfL Wolfsburg), Melissa Kössler (TSG Hoffenheim), Isabel Kerschowski (end of career), Gina Chmielinski and Dina Orschmann (both destination unknown), Barth is already the sixth regular player to turn her back on fourth-placed in the table last season. In addition, the contracts of goalscorer Selina Cerci and defensive specialists Teninsoun Sissoko and Malgorzata Mesjasz expire in June.
Merle Barth made 20 of a possible 22 Bundesliga appearances last season and featured in all games in the DFB Cup. The 28-year-old midfielder moved from Leverkusen to Brandenburg two years ago. It is not yet known where Barth will start the next chapter of her career.
The future of Turbine Potsdam is no less uncertain. After losing the Champions League qualification on the last two match days and losing the DFB Cup final against Wolfsburg, the club seems to be falling apart.
