Fast charging stations on the motorway, where they are

The spread of the EV electric mobility mainly passes from the installation of new fast charging infrastructures. From this point of view, Italy is behind despite the funds of the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) which it has allocated to the charging infrastructure 750 million eurosnecessary to realize 7,500 fast charging points on motorways and expressways and 13,755 in cities. An acceleration was given by the plan of ASPI, Autostrade Per l’Italia which is installing the networks on its network Free To X, (High Power Charger or HPC) up to 300 kWh.

Slowly, the map of the fast columns on the motorway sees an increase in the points available. The updated map matters 13 Free To X charging stations active on the ASPI network and another 24 are being installed – The goal is to get to 100 by summer 2023. advanced completion.

The fast network on the motorway recharges in HPC up to 350 kWh

The ultrafast stations on the highway with charging power HPC up to 300 kWh they provide from 4 to 8 multi-client charging points and one average distance between one station and another of at least 50 kmas required by the Budget Law 2021. These stations allow average charging times of 15/20 minutes.

Fast charging stations on the motorway

The Government is now trying to shake up and revitalize that provision contained in the 2021 Budget within the Competition Bill, under discussion in the House. The motorway concessionaires in fact they are obliged to equip the sections of their own competence with fast charging pointsensuring that the infrastructures made available allow users waiting time for access to the service not higher to those offered to users of internal combustion vehicles.

In case of delays, the dealers should have allowed to other operators to take their place.

The motorway concessions must encourage the creation of new fast charging points

None of this has occurred and now with the new regulation of the Competition Bill, motorway concessionaires who have not installed recharging points must now put to tender their realization, through competitive procedurestransparent and non-discriminatory.
