Putin: “Ready to resume dialogue with Kiev”
Russian President Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, confirmed Moscow’s readiness to continue peace talks with Kiev. This was announced by the Kremlin according to the Russian agency Tass. Putin, the Kremlin continued, pointed out that the negotiations “are frozen because of Kiev”, but confirmed Russian readiness “to resume dialogue”.
And the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron and the German chancellor, Olaf Scholz have decided to stay in touch by phone. Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov told TASS after the long phone call between the three leaders. “They will continue to communicate by phone,” Peskov assured.
Zelensky: talks with Putin because others decide nothing
THEUkrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky wants to sit at the negotiating table with Vladimir Putin because, he explained, all the other Russian representatives decide nothing. “There is no one to negotiate with but him. He has built a state in which no one decides anything,” said Zelensky, quoted by the Ukrainian agency UNIAN. “It doesn’t matter if he sends a delegation to talk to us. All these people are nobody, unfortunately,” he added.
Ukraine: media, US will supply long-range missile systems
Meanwhile, however, the United States is preparing to send powerful new weapons to Ukraine to counter Russia. CNN reports it, citing “multiple sources”. The new aid package would include long-range missile systems, ie those requested by Kiev in recent weeks. In particular, we are talking about the Mlrs system, Multiple Launch Rocket System, capable of moving quickly on light artillery vehicles and firing multiple missiles at the same time. The announcement is expected to be made early next week. The anticipation comes twenty-four hours after the warning issued by Russia that warned the United States not to “cross the red line” by providing defense systems to the Ukrainians.
