Acosta makes history, Vietti licks his wounds.
Pedro Acosta takes Mugello, and at 18 years and 4 days he becomes the youngest ever winner in Moto2. The KTM centaur preceded Joe Roberts and Ai Ogura at the finish line of the Italian Grand Prix, now paired at the top of the general classification with the great disappointment on Sunday: Celestino Vietti.
The centaur of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team had to give up due to a technical problem when there were just three laps to go to the finish. It therefore remains stationary at 108 points in the standings, now the same as Ogura’s. Which, thanks to the Mugello podium, has reached him. To underline the fourth place of Arbolino, torn with his nails to the finish line after a bitter battle with Lowes and with a Fernandez who in turn relaunches himself in the race for the title.
