Formula Regional | Beganovic more and more leader after Monaco

The first race of the weekend in Monaco saw Hadrien David conquering her first success of the season at the end of a race conducted from the first to the last lap.

The Frenchman of the R-Ace GP, who started from pole, kept the first position from the start but had to check a pounding Dino Beganovic in the mirrors.

The PREMA driver, who started from the second box, after having let the transalpine let off steam in the first laps, began to reduce the gap until he reached the exhausts of David’s car. It looked like Beganovic might try to place the paw but a red flag prevented the FDA Swede from attempting the thrust.

Race management was forced to suspend operations when Maguetounif tried to overtake Esteban Masson on the inside at the Fairmont hairpin. The contact between the front right and the rear left took Masson out of the way, preventing him from completing the curve and effectively blocking the rest of the inexuitori.

Once the track was cleared, the riders returned to battle with just 5 minutes left and the positions did not change.

David was perfect in not making any mistakes and passing first under the checkered flag followed by Beganovic, while the third step of the podium was occupied by a Kas Haverkort good at resisting the constant pressure of Gabriele Minì.

The Sicilian ART Grand Prix driver, who started from fourth position, showed a much higher pace than the Dutchman but had to settle for a placement that is worth a lot in terms of the championship.

In the opening stages, Minì had to look at an arrembante Michael Belov in the mirrors, but the MP Motorsport driver, after some initial flare-ups, never had the speed to keep up with Minì.

The top 10 of Race 1 was completed with Bortoleto in sixth place ahead of Mari Boya, Laurens van Hoepen (first among the rookies), Leonardo Fornaroli and Noel Leon.

Positions reversed in the second race of the Principality weekend. To dominate in a clear way was a Dino Beganovic increasingly leader of the championship.

The PREMA driver, who started from pole, never lost command of operations and didn’t make any mistakes even when the safety car entered the track on the opening lap due to Roman Bilinski and Maceo Capietto’s off-track.

At the restart Beganovic pushed hard, opening a gap of almost 5 seconds on Hadrien David and then passing undisturbed under the checkered flag.

The R-Ace GP driver suffered in the opening stages when he had to keep an insidious Minì at bay, but then moved away from Palermo to finish the second race of the weekend in second position.

Minì finally managed to get on the podium in Monaco for the first time in his career at the end of a solid race during which he first tried to mock David at the start, lifting his foot to the Santa Devota to avoid a contact, and then resisted to the pressure of a Haverkort became a competitive constant this season.

The Palermitan, however, will have to make a change of pace in the next rounds to be able to reply to a cold and calculating Beganovic who is doing absolutely nothing wrong from the first round of Monza onwards.

The Swede, thanks to the result in Monaco, is increasingly the leader in the standings with 129 points followed by David at 74, while Minì is third with 67 points.
