We are shocked and filled with overwhelming sadness at the untimely passing of our dear friend, family member and bandmate Andy “Fletch” Fletcher. Fletch had a real heart of gold and was always there when you needed support, a lively conversation, a good laugh or a cold pint. Our hearts are with his family and we ask you to hear them in your thoughts and to respect their privacy in this difficult time.
Andy Fletcher was much loved in the music world for his talent, but also for hisempathy that he managed to have with the public. He joined Depeche Mode in 1980when he met Martin Gore at the Van Gogh pub on Paycocke Road in Basildon.
The cause of death is not yet known, the keyboardist passed away at the age of 60 and leaves his wife in pain, in addition to his friends and colleagues. Grainne Mullan and his two sons Meghan and Joe.
