After relegation is before the season planning. And that begins for Hertha and Fredi Bobic with a new coach. The sports director has now announced that the new head coach will be presented in the “next few days”.
After the successful relegation in the relegation against HSV, Hertha’s eyes are on the new season. Shortly after the final whistle, sporting director Fredi Bobic announced that he would start work straight away. And it will be a lot of work for the 50-year-old.
At the top of the agenda is the search for a new coach. Felix Magath says goodbye with the successful mission to stay up. A successor will be presented soon. “I’m very, very far along in the talks. We’re sure to be able to present a new coach in the next few days.”Bobic explained to the dpa.
The favorites for the positions are Sandro Schwarz and Adi Hütter. Schwarz is currently still training Dinamo Moksau. The 43-year-old faces the Russian Cup final against city rivals Spartak on Sunday. The ex-Mainzer could then land in Berlin.
It would also be possible to sign Adi Hütter, who had to resign after just one year in Gladbach. The connection to Bobic is quickly established: the Austrian worked extremely successfully with the Hertha sports director in Frankfurt.
No matter who it is in the end, the profile for the new head coach is clear: “It’s clear what he has to bring with him. Personality and fire for Hertha. I want to see aggressive football, pointing forwards, not backwards. Our football was marked by passivity.”so Bobic.
Financially, however, small rolls are baked under the new coach. A transfer surplus is needed again, said Bobic. But there will definitely be some squad changes: “It’s not about saving dead, that’s not in my interest. Nevertheless, we have to look at it, next winter is coming.”
