ASUS together with NVIDIA announced at the Computex 2022 fair, what they call the “world’s first 500Hz G-Sync gaming monitor”, the “ROG Swift” is the first monitor in the world that reaches 500Hz and has a resolution of 1080p.
The announcement comes just over two years since Nvidia and Asus teamed up to introduce 360Hz gaming monitors for Esports at CES 2020.
The gaming monitor is designed for competitive gaming, uses an “E-TN” (Esports TN) panel and has NVIDIA’s G-Sync eSports to maximize motion clarity, according to ASUS, this panel offers 60% better response times than standard TN panels.
It also features NVIDIA’s Reflex Analyzer technology that provides real-time statistics to help reduce end-to-end latency when using a Reflex-optimized mouse and NVIDIA GPU.
In addition, the companies announced that the monitor has an improved “Vibrance” mode, specifically tuned for Esports, built into the monitor’s firmware. This mode allows more light to pass through the LCD glass, displaying more vivid colors and letting you pick out details to make objects on the screen stand out.
At the moment there is still no official announcement of its release date and what its price will be.
