Almost twenty years have passed since the disappearance of Carlo Talamo, a true motorcyclist who has left an indelible mark in the history of two wheels. Roman of noble origins, with studies interrupted at the middle school license, thanks to the visionary talent of him always outside the box and useless conformisms, able to combine true passion with entrepreneurial ability very successful, Carlo Talamo has made you discover the world of Harley-Davidson getting involved in the first person with advertising campaigns that it is no exaggeration to call legendary. Thanks to Numero Uno, a dealership founded on June 26, 1984 with friends Roberto Crepaldi and Max Brun, has now become official importer of the House of Milwaukeethe mammoth American twin-cylinders entered by right in the rich motorcycling audience of our house.
However, Carlo Talamo was not a simple dealer: his imagination, the desire to experiment and amaze have found expression in customized models, so much so that he can be considered the Harley’s first production customizer. With results that are nothing short of amazing for their flair and refinement.
Some of the most significant models from his private collection have been saved by Andrea Rivolta, owner of the historic family shop (opened in 1951) for the construction and sale of bicycles and accessories in Milan and which has become mandatory meeting point for those who want to immerse themselves in the world of twin-cylinder – and not only – stars and stripes. Born in 1960, Andrea is obviously a practicing motorcyclist but the love at first sight for Harley was born almost by chance: at the 1990 Bologna Motor Show in the square inside the fair structure the pilots of the USA team performing the flat track, races on oval tracks that impose a riding style constantly sideways and the queen bikes of this specialty are Harley XR750. Similar models will enrich Talamo’s personal collection.
Other examples of this champion can be appreciated in Andrea Rivolta’s shop alongside some particular Triumph models: in the early nineties Talamo also created Numero Tre, dealer and importer of the reborn Anglo-Saxon brand by John Bloor.
