Un off me, the bike out of control, the crash and the screams. Two men remain on the asphalt. A 54-year-old who was driving a Harley-Davidson and a 19-year-old who was run over while on the sidewalk. The dynamics of the accident have not yet been officially clarified, but from the first reconstructions and various testimonies it seems that Giuseppe Brivio has lost control of his bike, perhaps caught off guard by a bump. He was walking along via Nazario Sauro a Cassago Brianza (Lecco), it was just after 10pm and the stretch of sidewalk near an ice cream bar was still crowded. There was also Matteo Pampolini, 19, with his girlfriend and friends. When the bike swoops into the crowd, he probably doesn’t notice anything. He is overwhelmed and thrown a few meters away. The impact is very violent and for the young man there is nothing to do.
The 54-year-old Giuseppe Brivio, from Missaglia and domiciled in Albiate, also dies. The Carabinieri are reconstructing exactly the dynamics of the accident after making the findings. It remains to be determined whether the motorcyclist has not seen the bump and has lost control or if an illness caused the tragedy. After the crash, four ambulances arrived at the scene and also the helicopter rescue from Como. The conditions of Giuseppe and Matteo immediately appeared desperate. A third person was slightly injured in one leg and a lady accused a sudden illness.
