The question of overtaking in MotoGP does not worry the Ducati rider
For some time now, many MotoGP riders have been complaining about the difficulty of overtaking in the premier class: at the head of the group is Marc Marquez, who has not hidden his concerns about the recent technological development of MotoGP, which is bringing it ever closer to F1. . “For my taste there is no overtaking and a little more noise, but with these bikes it is very difficult to overtake. With these bikes it takes a very aggressive maneuver to overtake: with holeshot, aerodynamics and all these things, now it’s really hard to overtake. “
A position confirmed by Luca Marini: “If we do not make mistakes it is almost impossible to overtake. With the tires it is now very difficult to overtake because the pressure on the front increases”.
Ducati centaur Pecco Bagnaia is not of the same opinion: “I don’t think it is difficult to overtake. In Argentina I started 13th and finished 5th, in Portimao last and finished 8th, so I think overtaking can be done both with carbon brakes that without, as well as both with and without wings. When you turn faster than your opponent, you inevitably manage to overtake. If you are only slightly faster than the one in front of you, you struggle more, but you can do it anyway, so I don’t see any particular limitations “.
