Arsenal’s hopes of returning to the Champions League competition next season, actually had time to be seen in real, when they could occupy the top four positions until entering week-36 of the 2021/22 Premier League competition.
However, bad luck actually approached the Gunners. When suffering defeats in a row against Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, the hopes of the London Cannon seemed to be fading.
Because of the domestic competition that only has one game left, Arsenal actually have to be two points behind their city rivals, Tottenham which makes Arteta’s squad can only expect The Lilywhites to lose to Norwich City, and they can beat Everton to open up a chance to the last four.
Seeing that Arsenal may still not be able to return to the Champions League, Ian Wright as a team legend, did not feel disappointed about this after he felt that his former team was not ready to break into the top four positions.
“They (Arsenal), did not respond in a stressful situation at some stage. No matter how bad the performance of Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester United, you should be able to put yourself to take advantage of the situation,” said Wright of Express Football.

“But the facts say otherwise. In the games against Spurs and Newcastle, Arsenal did not show their struggle,” he concluded.
If Arsenal really fail to end the 2021/22 season by being in the top four, then Arteta seems to have to improve by actively shopping for players after seeing the attacking sector, which is one of his biggest problems at the moment.
