Our conclusion of the Fore Four wheels three years ago was that you can call them light. But it can be even lighter and with the new limited Fore Four CRD SL wheels they manage to save about 200 grams. With a total weight of 1290 grams, they are in the top segment of carbon wheels in that regard.

Limited edition of 250 wheelsets
The Fore Four CRD SL wheels come in a limited edition of 250 pieces. So we have already tested the regular Fore Four CRD wheels and were very pleased with them. The biggest difference with the SL version is the weight saving. They did this by upgrading the DT Swiss hub to the 240 version and ‘omitting’ the decals. Not that there are no decals on it, but these are laser engraved into the rim instead of the waterslide decals. The rim has also been changed, because internal spoke nipples are used in this SL series. The dimensions of the rim are identical. A 38mm high rim, with an inner width of 20mm and an outer width of 26.5mm. The rims are tubeless ready.

Handbuilt in the Netherlands
Fore wheels are designed and built in the Netherlands. It is of course no secret that almost all carbon comes from Asia, and so is this rim. After development in the Netherlands, the rim is produced in Asia and then assembled in the Netherlands. Handbuilt in the Netherlands, as they say themselves.
The price for this wheelset is € 1699,- and therefore they are very competitively priced in this weight category. The wheelset comes with tubeless rim tape, 50 mm tubeless valves and two wheel bags. As mentioned, the edition is limited.
